Why I don’t speak or write the words ‘deadline’ and ‘strategy’

Have you ever thought about the word ‘deadline’?

Did you know that ‘a dead line’ was originally used to refer to a line around a prison in The American Civil War prisons, and if any prisoner went past that line, they were shot and killed?

Did you know that the word ‘strategy’ means “art of a general” and originates from the Greek strategia, meaning office or command of a general?

(I appreciate TraceyKay Coe for telling me this, as I used to speak that word a lot until she told me about it!)

Add to that the word ’trigger’ which I wrote an article about the other day, we can be curious about why so many words that originally referred to war are now used in business, personal development and therapy.

I believe that the origins of a word have an energetic imprint which can affect us when we write or speak those words.

Do you say ‘deadline’ or ’strategy’?

How do you feel and what do you think when you read about their origin?

I believe that we reclaim our power when:
we understand the origins and meanings of words;
we connect in with how we feel and which parts of us we connect with when we speak those words;
and then make clear choices about what we do write and say.

Lots of love xoxox
