Self-care? Broken Cookies? Villages and Power?

Hello!

How are you with caring for yourself as a mother?

I’ve been a mother for 13 years, and I’ve been working specifically with mothers for a decade, and if it’s one thing that I’ve seen the most, it’s that we are often still affected by old cultural beliefs about valuing ourselves and our needs as mothers.

We need to get creative about nourishing ourselves as mothers.
So, this week I made this video about creative ways to care for ourselves as mothers, even if we have LOTS going on in our lives:

What else is something that can be challenging for us as mothers? Responding to our children when they have a big reaction about a small thing.

Aletha Solter calls these ‘broken cookies’ – watch the video below to find out why!

And one really helpful way to respond to broken cookie moments is to set loving limits.

And that’s another thing I’ve noticed that many of us mothers need to practice – setting loving limits.

I talk about one way of doing that in this video:

I LOVE your requests or suggestions for video topics – so please write to me and let me know what you’d like a video about!

Lots of love,

Marion
