I’m passionate about celebrating women, and our bodies, and all the gifts we have to give.
I’m passionate about being part of a community of women that have moved past old ways that women have connected, old ways that relied on blame, victimhood and sharing pain.
I am passionate about pleasure, joy, beauty, power and evolution of women.
I also love the writings and inspiration of Barbara Marx Hubbard, an 84 year old woman who is full of life and wisdom.
She writes; “We are integral participants in the story. We are called, each in unique ways, to participate in the process of creation. Our vocation, or life purpose, or ‘soul’s code’ is our unique aspect of the blueprint of the cosmic code. It is the creativity of evolution localized in each of us. Our purpose is not merely a personal vocation or profession. It is our part of the larger design of creation for more life, more consciousness, more freedom, and more intelligence. When we attune to our deep callings, they seem to be integral elements of the cosmic code, residing as each person’s desire to create.
We cannot simply become no self with a generalized universal awareness. We are called to unique vocations and creative expression within the emerging social body. Far from losing our individuality, we are finally coming into the next stage of individuality.” Barbara Marx Hubbard
She also writes; “At this very moment we are seeing the accelerated rise of the feminine. Wherever women have the opportunity, we are …. giving birth within ourselves, for the first time in thousands of years, to the authentic feminine self and its expression in the world. We are becoming feminine cocreators, Evolutionary women. The rise of women is an evolutionary event of the highest importance, especially when we understand our role in guiding conscious evolution toward life ever- evolving.”
I am seeing all around me, women friends evolving very quickly; becoming more.
One dear friend has shifted so much that physically she is a different person. Healthy and strong, and full of vitality. It was my pleasure to go out clothes shopping with her the other day to find items that corresponded with her new identity. She chose a bright, beautiful dress that expressed the new her; very visible!
Another friend has grown so much in the time I have known her. She combines her love of parenting and her love of learning and growth with her love of business. I feel joyful seeing how she is becoming more and more herself.
I’m inspired watching the partner of the father of my children and how she is with her twins. Love pours out of her and she steadfastly and with a quiet and beautiful grace and beauty, cares for them day in day out, often on her own with them for many hours.
I’ve been deeply inspired by another friend, who creates fashion, writes books, and brings together beautiful people. She keeps on inspiring me to live a more connected and inspiring life.
I’m filled with joy seeing another friend, who last year separated from her partner and the father of her youngest child; step into her love of dance and beauty and sensuality and the power of the feminine. She sends beautiful dance videos to a private FaceBook group that we are on. I see her blooming and flourishing.
Another very dear friend has transformed her relationship with the father of one of her children. I see her every day become more. She connects with her children in ways that I dream of. They have fun, they laugh, they play, so much.
One of my friends set up a gourmet chocolate business. As well as looking after three children in very beautiful ways, she makes thousands of delicious raw chocolates. She gets up at very very early hours several times a week in order to go to local markets and entice people with her beautiful wares. She LOVES what she does.
And there are so many more women ~ so many mothers whom I have met ~ so so many women, so passionate about how they are with their children; learning and growing through being mothers.
I know this in myself. Three years ago I stepped into more beauty and power. I painted a huge, eight-foot heart on my kitchen wall, and stepped out into seeing the power and beauty in my women friends, and stepped out with my website and the facilitating and consultations that I offer. I was “tested” to see if I really was willing to step into being BIGGER; there was flood damage; my teeth broke; my computer stopped working; my beautiful hand made table split; my new car was flooded; a rat came into my house; etc.
I saw that the choice was mine; to keep descending into hell, or to step out of the well.
It was a seemingly small thing that was my lifeline. In the boot of my car I found a packet of beautiful colouring pens of my daughter’s that I thought had been lost. I found the beauty, and the ability to create beauty, and in that moment the old version, broken and flooded and alone, was gone. I spent the next several hours reading inspiring literature about the feminine, and stayed up until 2am starting to create a new website.
A dear friend that I knew in the U.K., my powerful Spanish mentor-friend, told me that we need a community of women around us to step into being more. On the website she co-creates with her husband, she writes, “As sisters we gather to be inspired, to be set free from the bonds of patriarchy, to enter into the fullness of being alive as women. We gather so that we can grow into our power & beauty, more & more as we age, and not shrink or allow ourselves to be discarded, made invisible or powerless because we lack the inner strength or outer support of The Feminine. Our gathering is A Call to Power, a call to remember who we are, and to support each other in standing in our fullness.”
Thus I see for myself, both an inner growing in my ability to keep choosing beauty and power rather than brokenness and flooding, and an increasing comfort in being in relationship with other women, to support and be supported in our evolving as women.
I love what Elisabeth’s husband Joseph says; “The women need to find the voice of their hearts – and risk speaking it… And millions of women need to stand up – together. Women need to support each other as ‘sisters’ – they need to stand up ‘in sisterhood’. This is the only way this Revolution of the Heart will gather pace. ”
I remember when I first came to live in Australia, at the age of 30, to be with the man I loved, and the land where my mother was born. At the airport I bought “Succulent Wild Women” by Sark. In it she celebrated, in detail, several of her women friends. I LOVED reading about her loving celebration ~ and wanted to be full enough in myself to be able to do that too!!
Some of the things Sark says (in bright, hand written letters) are: “Marry yourself first. Promise to never leave you.” “Be rare, eccentric and original”, “dress to please yourself”, “Seek out other succulent wild women encourage the sharing of mutual treasures.”
With women friends, we support each other to be all that we can be, together.
As I was writing this article, my daughter kept saying “Evolve, evolve, evolve, evolve, evolve…” She was reading the label off a beanbag!
Do you have a community of women who celebrate and support each other to be all that they are?
And if not, are you willing to have one?
