“I love supporting parents across all areas of Aware Parenting, with a focus on younger children (up to age 5). I regularly debrief the fertility, pregnancy, birth and postpartum period with parents and their wider whānau (family) as I acknowledge what a huge role this time plays in the connection between parents and their tamariki (children). I am passionate about customised one on one support as well as workshops on postpartum care, preparing older children for the arrival of a new sibling and managing parenting challenges within the wider context of holistic family wellbeing and healing. I offer online and in person support.”

“Discovering and practicing Aware Parenting has reconnected me with the deepest parts of myself and has empowered me to understand my daughter, myself, my husband, and all people and relationships in a completely new light. From the moment my family began to implement the theory, I noticed such profound shifts in the way we were all connecting and I felt called to share this transformative practice with others.

This inner knowing led me to leave behind my decade long career as an Architect and I feel so grateful to now be certified as an Aware Parenting Instructor. I know from the deepest part of me that this work changes lives. I am here to empower you with the support and the information you need for your babies and children to feel seen, heard, respected and acknowledged. I am here to be with you on your exquisite parallel journey, to move through all that you need to in order to be able to show up for the people in your life with presence, empathy, joy and compassion, so that you can rediscover the connection that all beings yearn for.

I am currently offering 1:1 support, couples sessions, and opportunities to gather for parents and caregivers who are practicing, or would like to practice, Aware Parenting. My website is in progress, so for now join me on Instagram @Aware_Village to hear about upcoming offerings!”

“I love integrating Aware Parenting into my work as a Clinical Psychologist and in particular supporting parents in their own re-parenting and shifting of intergenerational patterns of responding to behaviours and feelings both towards themselves and their children, and in doing so creating healthier, more connected and loving parent-child relationships. I am passionate about working with parents in processing their own life stressors and trauma to support healthier interpersonal relationships not only with their children but also with their partners and extended communities. I work collaboratively with parents of children and adolescents of all ages, with a particular interest in fostering secure attachments and working with peer and sibling relationships, co-parenting, anxiety and school related issues. I also offer support to parents of infants and young children in responding to crying and resisting mainstream behavioural interventions and sleep training culture in favour of responsive and attuned parenting.”

“Hello, I’m Rafa. My professional path began in Engineering, where for fifteen years, I contributed to large-scale projects with corporations around the world. This journey took a turn when motherhood introduced me to the world of Aware Parenting. It wasn’t long before my professional interests realigned with this philosophy that had so deeply impacted my life. In 2022, I fully transitioned my career as an Aware Parenting Instructor, a role that brings me great fulfilment. It’s a pleasure to work alongside parents of young children, particularly those navigating the years of 0 to 6, mirroring the age of my own children. I am also dedicated to supporting busy parents on their journey to cultivate a more balanced life, blending and nurturing family, work and the connection with themselves.”

“I really love working with parents of children aged 2-10 years and supporting them with Aware Parenting with their children and also reparenting and healing for themselves. I also love to assist Fathers in learning more about Aware Parenting and see how they can play an integral part in the healing process as well. I feel that father, especially single father would benefit from more individual support and listening in their journeys. A passion of mine is also to support separated couples to create harmony in both homes, maintaining peace and safety for the child to feel safe and loved in any situation including transitions between homes. Attachment play is one of my favourite aspect of Aware Parenting and I truly believe there is a game for any challenge that arises in our parenting worlds!”

“Aware Parenting has profoundly changed me as a person. I am able to sit with myself in compassion and can now hear and see the needs of my children, my husband, my family and surrounding community.

I no longer fear crying, sadness, tantrums or just the loudness of big emotions. I welcome it, all of it, as I know it’s better out that in.

Watching what happens after releasing emotions is truly magical.

I feel honoured that I get to work with families in a perinatal mental health unit. (I work as a registered nurse and I’m also studying this year to become a family therapist).

This space has allowed me to work with willing families to no longer fear or fix their babies cries, but welcome them as they are. This creates space for more attuned baby care, freeing the family of guilt around not being ‘good enough’ parents.

To support, guide & watch the loving bond and attachment grow is pure joy.

I absolutely love working with families to find their flow in life.

I believe parenting doesn’t have to feel hard, we just need to lean into our values & find the right supports to live life practicing them.

I am offering 1:1 support, online workshops and in person workshops.

You can find me at @aware.familytherapist on Instagram or aware.familytherapist@gmail.com

Sending big warm hugs,

Kim”

Salena is particularly passionate about how Aware Parenting encourages us all to attend to our own re-parenting. She believes, gently and sensitively, we can hold a space for our inner child to teach and show us the way to deeply heal. We then have the best opportunity to show up as the most authentic version of ourselves, as people in the world, as parents, partners, sons, daughters etc. Salena follows her deep desire to deeply and sensitively guide others on this, at times, challenging yet rewarding, journey.
